Eva is an AI shopping assistant that sits on the storefront and helps customers find products via natural-language conversation rather than category navigation or filtered search. The category is young; the integration work is well-shaped.
Patchworks feeds Eva with product data from PIMs and ecommerce platforms, inventory and pricing in close-to-real time, and conversion events back into the customer data platform. The interesting design choices are around freshness · how stale Eva's view of stock and price is allowed to be · and around the fallback experience when Eva does not have an answer.
Conversational commerce only works when the catalogue feed is honest. Most of the integration work is making it so.
